Rock City Basics is a joint initiative of POPEI and Summa College, where you work weekly on Saturdays under the guidance of professional coaches to develop your musical skills. This hands-on course was flat for a while due to Covid, but will restart in early September 2023.

There are now two routes: Band Basics, where you can work on your own instrumental skills and learn to play together with others. You can sign up for voice, bass, guitar, keys and/or drums. Band Basics focuses on young musicians who do not yet have much experience playing in a band, but would like to. Even though Eindhoven is known as Rock City, there will be room for all kinds of different musical styles. We will try to put together bands based on age, experience and taste.

In addition, we will start with Producer Basics, where you will mainly work with music in a studio setting. You will learn how to lift your production to a higher level. Composing, recording, mixing and so on. You can choose whether you want to work individually or with others.
