Pop center POPEI and Music with Strangers join forces with a structural collaboration, to connect people through music and to allow them to discover and develop their talents. For a while now, on the third floor of POPEI, a renovation has been going on for a meeting place, in which much more is possible.

The mission of Music with Strangers is to create, nurture and grow strong bonds between the members of their community through music. At the heart of MwS are the weekly socializing evenings: a friendly environment where the “Strangers” meet, jam and rehearse. Their usual place - the Hub on Vestdijk - closed its doors during the first months of Corona, but they found their next home in POPEI. They are now working on the new community room on POPEI’s third floor, preparing to resume their weekly events there in the autumn. In addition, they also use a number of separate rehearsal rooms of POPEI. Continuing the tradition from Hub - the socializing event will be free and open for anyone to join. In addition to the fixed moments of MwS, the new easily accessible meeting place will also offer space for other parties.

Internationals
MwS is registered as an association and has members, as well as a wide network of friends and supporters. It started in 2014 as an initiative to teach guitar but since then it has grown a lot in size and expanded its range of activities with jamming and concerts. Since MwS roots are at the Hub, most of their members are internationals who study or work in Eindhoven. Besides the weekly events, they normally organize 10-15 concerts per year to give a stage for their member’s bands and projects. The events are run by their own production team. As soon as Corona allows you will see them again live on the stages of Eindhoven, including POPEI, bringing shows with diverse themes and a great variety of performances.

POPEI
POPEI is the pop center for Eindhoven and the surrounding area that is committed to bands and musicians who focus on pop music in the broadest sense of the word. POPEI does this with the help of activities and facilities such as rehearsal rooms, a concert hall, cafeteria with stage and a recording studio. The core activity is 'talent development' and the mission is to let people discover and develop their talents with music and a socially involved heart. In this, POPEI seeks as much cooperation as possible with other parties. Every year, POPEI offers about 2,500 people a stage to actively participate in a musical activity.
